Location: Office in Bentonville, AR

Join our Team in the heart of Northwest Arkansas! Lifewater is an established Christian non-profit and community development organization walking with the rural poor to provide access to safe water, and improved sanitation and hygiene, one village at a time. For 45 years, we have served more than 2.5 million people in 40+ countries with life-saving clean water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) practices. Lifewater currently serves in Cambodia, Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Position Overview

The Communications and Brand Marketing Specialist will serve as an invaluable member of the Development team. You will work closely with Creative Manager to execute a communication and editorial calendar. You will help develop, and execute key messages, coordinate, edit and promote compelling content, and craft fresh and relevant stories/content to engage Lifewater’s existing stakeholders and target audiences, including via social media channels. The Communications and Brand Marketing Specialist will assist in coordinating objectives within the marketing and creative department to help spread awareness of the organization and establishing a footprint within Northwest Arkansas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Content Creation and Creative Writing

  • In accordance with the communication calendar, coordinate the creation of one blog post/week with contractors, field journalists, and internal resources (including yourself)
  • Develop initial web copy for new and revised web pages as needed
  • Assist with the creation of eNewsletter and email communication
  • Assist in the writing of key publications: annual report, quarterly newsletters, brochures, reports, white papers, and fact sheets
  • Manage and execute social media content and pages for exceptional user experience and engagement
  • Manage editorial calendar
  • Write proposals, LOI’s, and reports as part of the grant writing process

Campaign Messaging/Coordination

  • Assist in the developing of initial campaign/event messaging
  • Draft initial campaign/event landing page copy, social media posts, and emails for both solicitation and stewardship
  • Establish relationships with key journalists and disseminate press releases as needed

Project Management

  • Oversee and manage the flow of all communications deliverables from conception through completion within the department
  • Maintain project timelines and tasks with team input
  • Collaborate with internal and external vendors/resources to meet established timelines
  • Manage the printing process of external and internal assets within the Marketing team
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Experience and Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Adherence to Lifewater’s statement of faith
  • Passion for Lifewater’s mission of serving vulnerable communities and children
  • 3+ years of experience in content creation and creative writing
  • Experience using Google Suite and Analytics
  • Experience writing and reviewing dynamic social media posts
  • Creative thinker and strategist, willing and able to bring new ideas for execution
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others, while meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrate a high degree of quality and professionalism
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States; no sponsorship will be provided

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution focused on Marketing, Communications, Business, Journalism, or a related field
  • Experience working for a non-profit organization
  • Experience using Asana, Classy, WordPress, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using Salesforce, or similar CRM tools

Physical Qualifications

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
