Wells of Life is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Christian organization whose mission is to provide rural Ugandans access to safe, clean water through the installation or restoration of sustainable borehole water wells and WASH (water, sanitation, and hygiene) educational programs. Job Description for Director of Development:

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Development oversees the Wells of Life fundraising strategy and execution, managing relationships with donors, grantees, church and school partners, corporate/business partners, and other various stakeholders to secure support for the organization and its mission. The Director of Development will plan and participate in fundraising events, grant writing, and other activities designed to produce support for the organization. The Director of Development will manage a robust portfolio of donors, cultivating relationships that grow and producing increased support.

Duties include (but not limited to):

Collaborate with CEO and COO to create and execute annual fundraising plan.
Collaborate with Operations, Marketing, and Communications teams, building support for the fundraising plan, including print, digital, and in-person activities
Ensure that all development activities are executed with Wells of Life mission, vision, and values in mind
Provide leadership to staff and volunteers in various campaigns, events, etc
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, maintain accountability standards to donors, and ensure compliance with code of ethical principles and standards of professional conduct for fundraising executives
Research grant opportunities and write grant applications to like-minded funding sources
Provide regular progress reports to CEO and COO
Develop and implement church and school partner engagement programs
Develop and implement Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) content for business partner engagement programs
Develop and implement a planned-giving program and process for receiving asset donations
Collaborate with Operations team for data entry and donor record maintenance
Attend conference and association events in collaboration with CEO and COO to promote Wells of Life
Participate in various local and national Fundraising/Development peer networks
Required Skills and Experience

Excellent listening and customer service skills
Works well in a team environment; demonstrates willingness to follow instructions, abide by company policies and is respectful and professional at all times
Knowledge and experience with computer and software skills that includes: Intermediate/Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT, etc.) and Google (docs, drive, calendar, etc) suites of applications, Dropbox, etc., Fundraising/Donor Management software
Proficient at task prioritization, Multi-Tasker, and balancing several competing interests and goals simultaneously
Flexible, innovative, creative, reliable, dependable and motivated
Attention to detail, accuracy, accountability and confidentiality crucial.
Ability to operate both independently with the flexibility to be part of a team
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in social services, business, non-profit management, or other related field
At least 5 years of previous development/fundraising experience with a proven history of successfully managing a portfolio valued at least $1 million annual
Strong financial, organizational, relational, and administrative skills
CFRE preferred; AFP membership preferred
Proven history of successfully working in a fast-paced, multi-dimensional, multi-location company culture
Ability to travel and work some weekends and evenings
English as primary language

Pay: $125,000-$130,000 + Bonus Potential
