Global Mobility Advisor

The global mobility advisor supports the organization’s efforts to be nimble and globally compliant. The objective of this role is to collaboratively support the organization’s ability to effectively hire and support a globally dispersed workforce. Primary responsibilities are related to visa management, expatriate care and support, international hiring scenario analysis, and international traveler and security support.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Promote and contribute to the fulfillment of HOPE International’s mission and vision
Visa Management

Serve as coordinator and in-house liaison for all domestic and international visas sponsored by HOPE International
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with immigration attorneys supporting HOPE visa processes
In collaboration with operational counterparts, maintain current information and documentation on visa options for HOPE International country contexts
In collaboration with attorneys, support recruiters and managers on questions related to visa options for candidates and staff
Provide excellent support and care to staff members, and their managers, as they navigate visa sponsorship processes with HOPE
Expatriate Care

Develop and maintain resources, such as country guides, to inform and prepare expatriates for their field location
Support expatriate pre-departure preparation through trainings (security, health, cross-cultural, etc.) and internal and external resources
Liaise with external resources (such as Barnabas International, The Resilience Resource, and others) to connect expatriates with Christ-centered support for pre-departure preparation, ongoing care check-ins, and transition debriefing; champion the usage of such resources among the expatriate cohort
Serve as liaison and champion for our external security and medical emergency support vendor (International SOS) among our expatriate cohort
Through staff listening and research, propose effective and meaningful expatriate benefits to best meet the needs of HOPE’s expatriates and third-country nationals across the network
Collaborate with the spiritual integration team to provide excellent expatriate care to promote spiritual and emotional health
Serve as an active member of HOPE’s cross-functional expatriate care service team
Seek innovative ways to provide exceptional care for HOPE International expatriates
Development and maintenance of an effective global mobility program

Support research and documentation for HOPE secondments (both within HOPE entities around the network and externally, as needed) and international independent consultants
Collaborate effectively with the operations and finance team members involved in international role decisions and set-ups
Track HOPE secondments throughout their tenure at HOPE, ensuring that HR support related to processes like contract review, annual compensation review, etc. are completed according to established organizational rhythms
In collaboration with the finance team, develop and maintain a master document detailing employment options and preferences (such as: local hires; expatriates; seconded staff; etc.) among the country entities within the HOPE network
Traveler Support and Security

Champion travel resources (such as International SOS, travel insurance, To Go Guides, travel training videos and in-person sessions, etc.), to HOPE’s international travelers
Serve as organizational liaison and expert on our organizational umbrella international travel insurance policy
Serve as organizational liaison and champion for our external security and medical emergency support vendor (International SOS)
Serve as an organizational point-of-contact during medical or security incidents for travelers and expats, facilitating care and support with vendors
Serve as special project support and a staff care representative for the cross-functional security team at HOPE, particularly during emergency or crisis management scenarios within the HOPE network

QUALIFICATIONS
Personal confession of Christian faith and commitment to the mission and vision of HOPE International
Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a similar field of study
3+ years of professional experience; at least 2 of those years in HR preferred
Skill and sensitivity in cross-cultural communications and in workplace relationships, with the ability to manage relationships well and lead through influence
Proactivity and ability to work effectively independently
Strong research skills and the ability to comprehend and interpret complex information
Considerable skill in effective verbal and written communications, including active listening skills and skill in presenting findings and recommendations in a professional and concise manner
Strong project management and organizational skills, including effective time management and prioritization of competing demands and multiple deadlines
Willingness to travel internationally (roughly 1-2 trips per year)
Excellence in customer service and commitment to joyfully serving others
