YOUR OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking an energetic, creative, and people-oriented individual to join our team. In this position, you will learn the ins and outs of the daily workings of a non-profit grants team, and all that entails. As a grant writing intern, you will support our development team by writing reports and proposals for potential donors about the impact of our work, doing research on foundations and initiatives related to rural poverty and international development, and dreaming with us about ways to increase support for Plant With Purpose programs around the world.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Grant Writing Intern, you will report to the Development Systems Manager. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

— Research potential funders, grant opportunities, and industry trends
— Write and edit grant LOIs, proposals, and reports in collaboration with the Senior Grant Writer
— Assist Development Systems Manager and Senior Grant Writer with administration tasks
— Write and edit fundraising or awareness-raising materials
— Provide support to fundraising and communication efforts

— You are working toward a degree in communications, international development, nonprofit management, fundraising, journalism, or a related field
— You have knowledge/experience in community development and/or international travel is a plus

COMPENSATION
This is an unpaid internship. You will gain hands-on experience working closely with a creative, close-knit team who is inspired to achieve a lasting solution to rural poverty. We can also coordinate with your institution to offer academic credit for your experience.

COMMITMENT
This is a part-time internship that normally requires you to be in our sunny San Diego office 12-15 hours per week for the duration of the internship. However, with the ever-changing environment due to COVID-19, this position will be remote. Hours are flexible. Below is a general timeline for the deadline and duration of internships.

LOCATION
The Plant With Purpose team is working in a hybrid format, allowing for a fully remote internship or the ability to utilize our HQ collaboration center in San Diego, California. If you are in San Diego, our collaboration center is open for interns.

START DATE: January 18, 2022
