What is the opportunity?
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Living Water Manager is responsible for providing oversight, strategic direction, guidance, and coordination for Water Mission’s global Living Water strategy, bearing witness to Christ and His Kingdom. The Living Water Manager will be responsible for implementing and operationalizing Water Mission’s global Living Water Strategy in all country programs, as well as supporting staff discipleship activities. This full-time position is a Charleston-based position located in Charleston, SC. Key responsibilities include:
* Promote and fulfill the mission and vision of Water Mission through words, actions, and initiatives.
* Provide leadership and development as a dotted-line manager to a global team of Living Water specialists to support continuous learning that enhances individual performance and organizational capability.
* Work with staff to foster an environment of honoring God as we share the gospel of Jesus Christ through word and deed. Consult with peer management and senior leaders to successfully align departmental resources and priorities across Water Mission to achieve this.
* Model servant leadership in the work environment
Global Living Water Strategy and Implementation
* Develop the Living Water strategy and provide oversight, direction, guidance, and coordination to ensure it is executed effectively.
* Work with Program Directors to develop annual Living Water plans and budgets.
* Ensure that Water Mission is partnering effectively in the field with local churches.
* Collect and disseminate useful tools, resources, and practices to staff.
Partnership Support
* Serve as a spokesperson for Water Mission as necessary, representing Water Mission to other organizations and the general public, in cooperation with other department leads (such as Investor Partnerships, Marketing and Communication, and others).
* Liaise with and coordinate with external resources to advise on, review, and evaluate field activities and content on sound practices, metrics, etc.
*Participate in conferences, workshops, and related events to learn from and contribute to sound practices in the field.
* Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, donors, volunteers, and the general public.
* Maintain a high-level knowledge of Water Mission’s organizational objectives, programmatic strategies, projects, and activities.
* Research, learn from, and stay current in the fields of water, sanitation, hygiene, international development, and missiology.
* Travel to countries where Water Mission operates.
* Other duties as assigned.

What is required?
* Personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
* Alignment with Water Mission’s Statement of Faith and core values of Love, Excellence and Integrity.
* Bachelor’s degree in economics, business management, public health, anthropology, or biblical studies, ministry leadership or similar strongly preferred.
* Master’s of Divinity or another advanced degree in ministry strongly preferred.
* Demonstrated experience and passion for spiritual formation and discipleship making; Expertise in missiology a strong plus.
* General management skills. Leadership experience in the local church/business/nonprofit sector strongly preferred.
* International travel experience in difficult contexts required, and experience living abroad preferred.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate team members of a global organization.
* Demonstrated ability to create and manage systems and to think strategically.
* Demonstrated ability to cast vision, build consensus, and work collaboratively and effectively with other leaders, board members, employees, and volunteers.
* Exceptional written and verbal cross-cultural communication skills.
* Fluency in written and spoken English required, proficiency in Spanish preferred.
* Ability and willingness to travel up to 10 weeks per year, mostly in developing countries. Most international trips are 10-14 days in length and require this person to ride in long car rides on rough terrain and stand for long periods in hot weather.
* Home internet bandwidth strong enough to support video conferencing and other job-related responsibilities required.
* Commitment to the organization’s values and mission and ending the global water crisis.
* Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
