M&E BI Research Analyst

around the world! As part of the MERL team, we are a team that is passionate about empowering
the local church and leveraging data to address children’s needs.

You will produce complex operational, financial, effectiveness and market intelligence data by
discovering and querying major repositories and other sources. You also will interpret data,
formulate reports and make significant recommendations based upon the research findings. This
effort requires the application of qualitative and quantitative techniques, including predictive
analysis, to interpret the data and produce substantiated recommendations. In addition, you will
devise methods for identifying data patterns and trends in available information sources.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a remote, US-based position.

We are hiring two positions – one is a level II and the second is a level III. The salary range
for the level II is $72,070 – 90,085 and for the level III is $96,730 – 120,910.

What will you do?

 Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus
Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and
outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion’s ministry in prayer.
 Act as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children. Understand Christ’s
mandate to protect children. Commit to and prioritize child protection considerations in
all decision-making, tasks and activities across the ministry. Abide by all behavioral
expectations in Compassion’s Statement of Commitment to Child Protection and Code of
Conduct. Report any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through
Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately support responses to incidents
if they occur.
 Accountable for supporting, upholding, and engaging in Compassion’s core “Cultural
Behaviors”; in all internal and external communication and relationships.
 Formulate analysis plans and designs or develop complex questionnaires, tests, research
plans, and other guides to ensure the necessary data is captured to perform an actionable
analysis and recommendation.
 Mine research data from available internal sources, industry reports, public information,
field reports, or purchased sources with revenue generation or effectiveness strategy and
business result implications. Conduct tests to ensure that data is valid and consistent with
defined needs.
 Conduct in-depth data review using traditional and advanced methods, including complex
statistical techniques. Perform analyses and prepare forecasts and recommendations in
the areas of program efficacy, enriched revenue generation, market penetration, market
practices, competitive strategies, and program enhancements.
 Collaborate with partnership facilitators, national, regional, or global program support
team members and leaders, to provide insight and expertise regarding intervention
milestones analysis, financial report status, child development milestones, partner maturity progress and such other programmatic aspects. This leads to the realization of partnership outcomes or to realization of global outcomes in line with Compassion’s theory of change.
 Develop pipeline for delivery of clean, analyzed, presentable data to specified endpoints.
 Develop actionable stories that assist in data-informed decision making in a wide variety
of contexts.

What do you bring?

 Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Quantitative
Analysis, Monitoring & Evaluation, Impact Evaluation, Engineering, or equivalent
technical field
 Master’s or PhD in above fields preferred for the level III position.

 For the level II position – three years of experience in business analytics, business
intelligence, data warehousing, quantitative analysis, impact research and/or data science.
 For the level III position – seven years of experience in business analytics, business
intelligence, data warehousing, quantitative analysis, impact research and/or data science.
 Strong oral and written communication with the ability to explain complicated or
technical information in a simple way to non-technical audiences.
 Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, including the ability to apply
quantitative analysis techniques to real-world business problems.
 Advanced knowledge in SQL relational databases preferred.
 Proficiency with Python or similar programming language to analyze, clean, manipulate
and present data.
 Proficiency with data visualization tools like Tableau to create insightful, impactful, and
interactive dashboards.
 Experience with Cloud based services a plus – Google Cloud, AWS, Azure services used
for Data storage and Data ingestion/ transformation like S3, ADF, Glue etc.
 Multicultural experience desired.
 Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English is required.

Travel Requirements
 May be required to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of normal schedule.
Travelers must follow the vaccination rule of each country they travel to. Some countries
require the health record to be uploaded to their system to receive a QR code to present
when arriving in immigrations.

Equivalent education, training and/or certification may be substituted for experience and
education shown above.
