Position Title: MEAL International Projects Officer (MEAL IPO)

Department: Projects

Report to: International Projects Manager (IPM)

Position Summary: The MEAL International Projects Officer (MEAL IPO) works in close
collaboration with an International Projects Manager and the MEAL Working Group to develop
and implement a MEAL strategy for the organization. In addition, the MEAL IPO assists the
IPM on several special assignments including safeguarding and implementing the water and
housing expansion strategy among others.

Educational or Certification Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
• Fluency in Spanish, French and/or Creole a plus.

Experience Requirements:
• Two or more years of experience in relief/development project MEAL or related field.
• International experience a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required/Preferred:
• Demonstrate foreign cultural awareness/sensitivity
• Excellent presentation, organizational, written, verbal and interpersonal communication
skills in a cross-cultural and multilingual context
• Ability and willingness to work effectively in a difficult environment
• Ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to questions from
donors, government officials, and other stakeholder organizations
• Marketing/communications skills and experience
• Highly detail-oriented with the ability to manage large volumes of data
• Experience with databases and strong working knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point
and Outlook. PowerBI is preferred but not required
• Strong MEAL conceptualization and strategic planning skills
• Program management/budgeting experience
• Experienced individual and/or group traveler, with knowledge of basic international
travel requirements/guidelines
• Experience working as part of a team
• Travel – Approximately 30% (Internationally)

Essential Responsibilities:
• MEAL Responsibilities
o Collaborates interdepartmentally to develop, implement and educate staff on the
CCO wide MEAL strategy;
o Provides assistance to the organization and CCO ministry partners in meeting
their strategic objectives as they relate to Integral Human Development;
o Continues to assist in developing spiritual theory of change (SOA);
o Provides assistance to CCO ministry partners to assess and strengthen MEAL
o Liaises between the Missions Departments and all fundraising departments, as
necessary, to help facilitate the use of partner data aimed at satisfying donor
inquiries and meeting fundraising goals; responds to data requests for information
on ongoing projects;
o Assists the IPM on Zengine (grants management software) MEAL related
projects, utilizes data from the platform to develop its data dashboard and in other
data tools (PowerBI, etc.);
o Assists IPOs in populating historic data in Zengine.

International Projects Officer Additional Responsibilities:
o Supports the IPM on special assignments such as safeguarding, anti-terrorism
requirements, edits in Zengine etc.;
o Conducts initial partner assessments for potential new partners/projects in
countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America or Caribbean with the core project focus
of housing and water;
o Provides verbal and written reports on potential partner assessments to the IPM;
o Supports IPOs in strengthening current housing and water partners/projects to
meet CCO standards and potentially increase capacity for larger grants;
o Makes recommendations about current and potential partners and hands over to
IPO responsible;
o Presents Mission Report to staff on projects visited following a trip to the field;
o Makes own travel and other logistical arrangements for trips to the field and, as
needed, for other potential travelers;
o Other duties as assigned.
