Partnership Content Specialist

We hope these resources provide more insight into your hiring journey with us. The Partnership Content Specialist is part of World Relief’s Strategic Engagement Division. This team member will develop content for World Relief’s strategic partners – foundations, corporations, churches, and major donors – and support proposal development and impact reporting for regional Strategic Partnership Directors. The ideal candidate will be adept at creating compelling content (proposals, reports, newsletters, stories, presentations, updates, etc.) and should have a proven track record of timely delivery of content.

This position requires a high level of creativity and donor-centric language. Excellent writing, spelling, editing, proofing, and grammar skills are essential to the role. Preference will be given to those with a strong writing background, bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience. Knowledge of the Story brand framework is a plus.

Own the development of proposal and reporting materials for church and major donors, as well as smaller foundation and corporate donors
Write and develop other content for partners and prospects (stories, updates, newsletters, emergency appeals, etc.).
Create and manage creative resources for front line fundraisers (including templates, presentation decks, and other collateral)
Support front line fundraising representatives in relationship-building efforts and partner care by curating and tailoring content to share with funders for ongoing engagement
Interview volunteers, donors, and beneficiaries as needed for storytelling purposes
Deliver world-class written and verbal communications that demonstrate the impact of giving to World Relief


Develop and manage timelines and key project indicators for deadlines and submissions of proposals and reports
Support work to track funds being sought and received, including multi-year grants, and providing timely and accurate reporting of progress toward goals
Liaise with program and field staff to organize and facilitate streamlined proposal development and impact reporting processes
Represent the team in cross-departmental projects and initiatives; serve as a connector between program staff, WR’s content team, and the Strategic Engagement operations team to ensure smooth flow of information and data


Outstanding listening, oral and written communication and meeting facilitation skills with a demonstrated ability to relate to and communicate with diverse communities.
Ability to anticipate audience-specific communication needs and support the execution of these needs.
Project management, from facilitating big-picture strategic conversations about positioning and prospects to completion and on-time submission of full proposal and report packages (narratives, budgets and attachments).
Ability to write compelling stories that help our partners move forward in their journey with WR.
Ability to manage and prioritize competing tasks to meet multiple, simultaneous deadlines and motivate others to do so, using diplomacy, clear communication and effective systems and processes to ensure that all team members follow through on assignments and tasks on time.
Ability to think and write creatively.
Capable of working independently, in a team-based environment and across teams.
Extremely self-motivated with a proactive approach to work.
Ability to use with fluency all Microsoft programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook

Bachelor’s degree required, additional education preferred
5+ years of experience in a variety of writing formats, specifically development writing
5+ years in a project management role with demonstrated increasing responsibility over time
Excellent written and verbal communications skills; attention to detail and ability to execute well
Ability to write logically, clearly and concisely
Ability to use Raiser’s Edge donor tracking system or equivalent
Excellent analytical/problem-solving skills and detail orientation
Ability to work effectively both as a team member and independently
Ability to capture and organize complex information
Commitment to World Relief Core Values and Mission Statement
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Flexibility and ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects
