Partnership Strategy Specialist

This role is responsible for promoting Kingdom collaboration and partnership development. This role oversees HOPE’s leadership of the Christian Economic Development (CED) network, supports HOPE’s partnership network strategic objective, supports savings group (SG) and microfinance (MFI) partnership activities, and explores other collaboration-focused projects to advance the mission.

Promote and contribute to the fulfillment of HOPE International’s mission and vision

Support microfinance & savings group partnership activities
Develop and refine HOPE’s Partnership Guide and network-wide partnership criteria
Organize regular meetings with microfinance and savings group team members for on-going support as the teams serve current partners and engage in new partnership development
Support on-going listening activities with current partners, liaising with the listening, monitoring & evaluation team to track partner satisfaction
Support the savings group and microfinance teams in sharing and celebrating partners’ successes
Envision the opportunities for partnership strengthening and growth within the HOPE network
Promote lateral learning events and field visits by and to HOPE partners
Research and support opportunities related to frontiers-focused partnerships
As needed, support HOPE’s management of its memberships with other networks such as Accord, Humentum, etc.

Lead CED Network
Convene the Christian Economic Development (CED) network steering committee (
Plan, schedule, and execute various network events in response to network feedback, including the annual CED summit, webinars, or other learning event
Manage team implementing the CED website, emails, and collateral
Lead CED-authored research, managing consultants as needed to do so

Lead HOPE’s Kingdom Collaboration Efforts
Develop and manage on-going rhythms and systems to steward leads and referrals from HOPE’s community of staff, donors, and friends for potential future collaboration or partnership, collecting and sharing leads with operations staff
Connect with potential leads and serve as a collaboration gatekeeper, assisting the operations team in managing and initial vetting of potential partnership leads, as needed
Coach and equip staff to talk about HOPE’s posture for partnership and collaboration
Manage the Organizational Intake page on the website and ensure leads are stewarded well and captured in HOPE’s growing repository of organizations
Ensure that the HOPE’s Open Hands online resources library is periodically reviewed and refreshed to provide external audiences with sharable resources, adding new content as needed and as desired by department heads within HOPE
Serve as ambassador and representative for HOPE at meetings, conferences and when hosting other organizations, as needed

Support HOPE’s network strategic objective (NSO) on Partnership
Support the advisory council of global team members as they advise on issues related to HOPE’s pursuit of the partnership NSO
Support quarterly NSO reporting and management, reviewing progress on NSO key results, collecting and sharing key result summaries
Support partnership strategy in collaboration with the savings group and microfinance teams, scoping resource needs to serve partners well

Personal confession of Christian faith and commitment to the mission and vision of HOPE International
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, microfinance, international development, economics or other related field
Leadership, strategy, and industry experience, with a preference for 5+ years’ experience; Significant microfinance and international economic development experience preferred
Strong relationships within the Christian economic development space
Track record of building initiatives from the ground up and bringing them through successful implementation
History of successfully developing people and leading teams (directly and indirectly)
Public speaking and facilitation experience
Analysis and report writing experience
Attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication, planning, and organizational skills
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with employees across the organization, locally and remotely, across cultures, and with external stakeholders
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 75 days per year maximum
Foreign language skills and training experience in developing countries (preferred)
