What is the opportunity?
The Partnerships Director, Corporations will build long-term funding partnerships with corporations to further the mission and impact of Water Mission. He/she will be part of Water Mission’s Global Partnerships team and be responsible for developing a corporate portfolio and intentionally advancing and developing relationships toward long-term funding agreements. This includes finding new partners and advancing relationships through stages from identification to cultivation and stewardship. This includes creating mutually beneficial agreements that provide benefit through areas such as corporate giving, employee engagement, marketing/PR support, product partnership, and corporate sustainability initiatives. This position reports to the Senior Director of Global Partnerships. It is a full-time position that can be based remotely or at Water Mission’s headquarters in Charleston, SC. A successful Partnerships Director, Corporations will:

General Duties:
* Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, donors, charitable beneficiaries, and the general public.
* Maintain a high-level knowledge of Water Mission’s organizational objectives, programmatic strategies, projects, and activities.
* Effectively communicate the mission and scope of Water Mission to various audiences.
* Faithfully serve in keeping with Water Mission’s biblical stewardship philosophy with partners.
* Collaborate closely with the CEO and Senior Director of Global Partnerships in managing key corporate partnerships.
* Maintain an updated work plan and document work through Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge.
* Create reports for Senior Director and other senior leadership as requested.

Build Funding Partnerships:

The Partnerships Director will develop strategic corporate relationships that provide long-term funding for the mission and priority objectives of Water Mission. He/she will:
* Find and pursue new prospective partners through networking and research, with the goal of growing the number of strategic corporate partners.
* Discover the priority motivations for each partner and what they value most in partnership. This includes understanding their interests related to corporate giving, sustainability and ESG, employee engagement, product use, and corporate communications objectives.
* Engage each partner through intentionally advancing a portfolio of partnerships.
* Proactively manage a portfolio of 25-50 corporate partners giving $25,000+ annually.
* Develop and execute a customized engagement plan for each, including annual plans and strategic quarterly goals. Track progress against each.
* Grow the number of partnerships and the annual giving of each partner.
* Travel to visit corporate partners face-to-face and continually pursue new opportunities to represent Water Mission to potential strategic partners.
* Educate and update partners on the global water crisis, disaster response events, and Water Mission’s best-in-class strategies and solutions.
* Advocate for the people we serve around the world by promoting the urgency of the global water crisis and the solutions we offer through partnership.
* Invite corporations to partner through customized partnership agreements that include various elements of corporate giving, employee engagement, marketing, etc.
* Create custom presentations and funding proposals as needed.
* Prioritize cash giving and product donations/discounts.
* Seek multi-year partnerships that grow annual giving to $100,000/annually when possible.
* Achieve funding targets through presenting proposals focused on priorities.

Support and Steward Corporate Partners:

The Partnerships Director will oversee the ongoing stewardship of the relationships to grow their enthusiasm for the partnership with Water Mission. This includes:
* Update partners proactively through timely touch points, helping them stay informed, connected, and feeling valued. Deliver according to their preferred mode and frequency of reporting.
* Report on impact. Provide professional impact reporting showing the value of the partnership in the lives of people.
* Assist in creating the impact reports and scheduling production.
* Ensure impact reporting is timely, accurate, professional, and delivered according to the partner’s preferred mode and frequency.

Strong Internal Collaboration.
This position requires substantial collaboration across the organization as the corporate strategy touches several teams within Water Mission as well as colleagues at the Global Water Center. The Water Mission CEO is a key stakeholder in most corporate partnerships, and therefore, this position requires the ability to navigate complex internal processes and procedures. Similarly, the role requires strategic collaboration with Marketing Communications and other teams that support the corporate strategy. Therefore, the Partnerships Director must have the ability to navigate the complexity of an international organization experiencing rapid growth.

What is required?
* Personal and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
* Alignment with Water Mission’s Statement of Faith and core values of Love, Excellence, and Integrity.
* Five years of relevant experience in partnership management with proven success in developing and advancing corporate relationships.
* Bachelor’s degree required; additional education preferred, preferably in business, communications, marketing, or engineering field.
* Skilled at navigating cross-departmentally within a corporate environment.
* Naturally productive person, internally motivated and proven ability to work independently.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment amid a growing organization.
* Professional demeanor, highly responsive, and able to set strategy and execute a work plan.
* Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills. Ability to develop PowerPoint presentations.
* Commitment to travel to Water Mission’s Charleston headquarters 3-4 times per year if remote.
* Commitment to travel domestically 8-10 times a year as needed, on average 3 days per trip.
* Ability to travel internationally for up to two consecutive weeks, 1-2 times per year, to developing countries.
* Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
* Commitment to the values and mission of the organization and ending the global water crisis.
* Home internet bandwidth strong enough to support video conferencing and other job-related responsibilities.
