A day in the life of a ProgramManagement Technical Instructor

Job Duties

Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ.
Apprenticeship Program:
Serve as the designated point person for apprentices assigned to the Programs track throughout the cohort, providing expertise, guidance, training and feedback.
Review independent study and training content (slides, examples, etc.) prior to each session. Anticipate and plan for potential questions and points of confusion.
Contribute to facilitator notes for each training session that will serve as the authoritative guide for instructors.
Lead training sessions in the Programs Technical Track. Coordinate with, and plan for, other trainers as needed.
Upon completion of each training session, analyze effectiveness and advise on revisions or modifications to the training materials. Work in collaboration with the Curriculum Specialist to incorporate changes into the curriculum.
Act as the point person for apprentices assigned to the Programs track throughout the cohort. Provide technical guidance during independent activities.
Coordinate with other instructors as necessary to ensure a seamless training experience for participating apprentices.
Work with the Projects Training Team to convert curriculum into an online format to be available for all SP staff globally.
Program Management Team:
Serve on the Incident Management Team (IMT) or Disaster Assistant Response Team (DART) when requested.
Devise technical training programs on behalf of the Program Management Team, according to policy and compliance requirements
Prepare training material (presentations, activities, webinars, etc.)
Execute training sessions, webinars workshops, etc. In groups or individually
Collect and report data on completed courses, absences, issues, etc.
Observe and evaluate effectiveness of Program Management Team training programs
Support in the development, improvement, and organization of training content and capacity building tools.

In this role, you will spend your day working to devise training content and conduct trainings on thetechnical tools, requirements and best practices for Program Management and related topics. The position serves as the primary instructor for the Programs track of the Apprenticeship training. This position will also support the Program Management Team (PMT) and field offices with improved training creation, curation, access and organization.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year college or university in a relevant field such as International Studies or International Development required; minimum of 2-3 years’ of international humanitarian experience with Samaritan’s Purse in a programs-related management role; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
PMDpro, PMP, or relevant certification preferred.
12 credit hours of biblical studies strongly preferred.
In-depth knowledge of, and experience in, all functions of managing a program effectively within the Samaritan’s Purse context, including specific Samaritan’s Purse tools, procedures, processes for needs assessment, project design, budgeting and financial management, procurement planning, proposal development, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting.
Expertise in all stages of proposal development and report writing, including awareness of various funder requirements.
Expertise in training on program management topics, including logical frameworks, activity planning, financial management, problem trees, etc.
Ability to develop and deliver quality trainings and effective techniques for knowledge retention.
