What is the opportunity?
The Proposal and Report Writer assists in impact reports for the teams that work with our individual, church, foundation, and corporate funds, as well as organization-wide mid-year and end-of-year custom impact reports. This role also manages a custom impact report schedule, ensuring that Partnership Directors can submit reports as needed. The Proposal and Report Writer will work with the Content Director, Partnership Directors, and Partnership Managers to write proposals. This individual must have superior attention to detail, the ability to work in a highly fluid environment, and a proven track record of meeting deadlines. The position reports to the Director of Content Strategy and Development and can be based remotely or at Water Mission’s headquarters in N. Charleston, SC.

A successful Proposal and Report Writer will perform the following:
General Duties
* Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, donors, volunteers, and the general public.
* Maintain high-level knowledge of Water Mission’s organizational objectives, programmatic strategies, projects, and activities.
* Document and maintain information using Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge software and Smartsheet’s project management software.
* Effectively communicate about the global water crisis and Water Mission’s vision, mission, values, and solutions to various audiences.
* Other duties as assigned.
Develop Content and Writing for Impact Reports and Proposals
* Manage custom impact report development; timeline; and content, including research, writing, and editing.
* Assist Partnership Directors in keeping partners connected and updated through customized impact reports in a timely manner.
* Deliver comprehensive, results-oriented donor proposals, impact reports, and stewardship materials with urgency and accuracy for the Investor and Global Partnerships (IP and GP) teams.
* Work collaboratively with local and international colleagues to stay informed of country programs, national and world events, and trends.
* Cultivate and deepen positive relationships with colleagues in Investor Partnerships (IP), Global Partnerships (GP), and Marketing to ensure transparent communication and streamlined processes.
* Research needs, collect data, and write content for mid-year and end-of-year impact reports. Work closely with supervisor, * Marketing Project Manager, and Creative team to ensure high-quality, on-brand final deliverables.
* Assist the Director of Foundations Partnerships in writing grant applications and reports.
* Track grant process and progress, acting as a liaison between the Programs department and the relationship manager working with the grantor.
* Review and finalize reports and proposals for IP and GP teams.

* Consistently present a professional image and effectively communicate the mission and purpose of Water Mission.
* Bachelor’s degree required.
* Minimum of three years of experience in nonprofit, grant-writing, or technical writing field.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate ideas and feedback in a constructive way.
* Knowledge of AP style and the ability to learn a house writing style and brand voice.
* Ability to work in a highly fluid environment and respond to changing requests and handle competing priorities.
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively with diverse groups of people.
* Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
* Home internet bandwidth strong enough to support video conferencing and other job-related responsibilities required.
* Commitment to the values and mission of the organization and ending the global water crisis.
