World Vision is hiring a Prospect Development Director

01 The Job We are looking for a Prospect Development Director who will develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive prospect development system in support of World Vision’s ministry. The director will deliberately and proactively drive prospects through the development cycle to ensure optimization of giving. Can use research services, data analytics, and lead generation management services, identify qualified leads and oversee the moves management process for all relational fundraising to move donors in and out of High Net Worth donor portfolios. Create and manage a systematic, transparent and cooperative process for managing and researching prospects to ensure all fundraising teams are as effective as possible. Is utilizing management reporting from the CRM system, collaborate with key business leaders and fundraisers to ensure effective prospect management and tracking and correct portfolio alignment. Provide oversight for donor stewardship process post gift. Help us carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies. Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.

Responsibilities include:

Prospect Development System:
-Create, manage and continually refine a prospect development system that applies a proactive, deliberate and data-filled
approach to identify, cultivate, and steward donors in the appropriate portfolios.
-Lead a research and analytical services process that identifies clear service deliverables in accordance with customer
expectations across the relational fundraising channels.
-Lead the continuous improvement of the team’s products, services, tools and business processes, resulting in a greater
pipeline of potential supporters at lowest possible cost.
-Manage the donor research and pre-qualification “warming” strategy of donor prospects.
-Lead a team of researchers responsible for prequalifying donor giving capacity, and providing biographical, philanthropic,
professional and financial information of donors and prospects to provide relational fundraising teams with high-quality
prospects and data-oriented services that leads to a greater number of donors supporting World Vision’s work.
-Lead a team of Prospect Engagement Officers who directly engage with the prospects and pre-qualify their giving affinity and
alignment with World Vision’s mission in preparation for assignment to a fundraising representative (e.g. “warming”).
-Oversee the effective transition of a donor/prospect from prospect development to the relational fundraising representatives.
-Develop and oversee the identification and analysis of prospects through data analytics and track their movement through the development cycle to ensure optimization of giving.
-Ensure the use of appropriate software applications to construct queries, generate data, analyze results, and produce systems health indicators, metrics, and other benchmarking tools.
-Oversee the generation and analysis of broad data sets, develop new predictive models, search for explanations and underlying causes, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations related to proactively driving prospects through the development cycle.
-Develop and lead a recurring portfolio optimization process for Major and Middle HNW teams to ensure fundraising reps have the right number and makeup of donors/prospects in their portfolio for optimum cultivation and giving.
-Present analyses and what-if scenarios to help quantify challenging business decisions & likely outcomes.
-Oversee and continually improve the donor servicing model that provides for certain services and deliverables as a result of a donor’s giving. Understand business requirements for donor servicing and make modifications to the servicing model as appropriate.
-Solve problems and develop solutions in cooperative fashion with key fundraising leaders in Middle and Major donor teams, as well as Segment & Product Marketing (SPM).
-Provide consulting assistance to client teams. Understand their business. Make recommendations related to donor treatment & program strategies in line with long-term corporate goals.
-Hire, fire, train, counsel, evaluate, and recommend salary increases and promotions for those under direct and indirect supervision.
-Lead, manage, mentor, motivate and provide conflict resolution support to team members.
-Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities. Reference and follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.

02 Required Experience:

-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (eight years).
-In addition to education or education equivalent, requires 5 – 8 years of work experience in prospect development, advancement services, business leadership, fundraising/sales, data management.
-Knowledge of prospect development industry disciplines required (including research and data analytics).
-Direct work experience in prospect development industry strongly preferred.
-Must be knowledgeable in relational fundraising and/or sales.
-Three years or more experience managing a staff of five or more people.
