The senior church engagement specialist partners and supports the development team in the execution of HOPE’s strategic objectives for engaging the US & HK Church. This includes collaborating with fundraising team members on the shared cultivation and management of church relationships, development of church-focused strategies and product/service offerings which support HOPE’s mission and purpose, and ensuring processes and systems are in place for effective operational performance. He or she will play a key role in the ongoing development of strategies and objectives for HOPE’s US & HK church engagement and will lead identified strategic initiatives. This person will be responsible for cultivating and managing relationships with a defined list of existing church partners and potential church partners.
Promote and contribute to the fulfillment of HOPE International’s mission and vision.
Lead HOPE’s church engagement efforts and program
Set program strategies and objectives in collaboration with associate director of development
Develop and deliver products, services, and tools for providing an excellent church partner experience
Establish and maintain well-defined processes and systems for program operational performance
Establish and maintain vehicles for tracking, assessing, evaluating program health
Continually explore new and emerging trends and associated opportunities for serving the church well
Lead and/or participate in cross-departmental initiatives to support the growth and flourishing of HOPE International
Model Christ-centered servant leadership in carrying out responsibilities
Lay a foundation for potential small team focused on church engagement
Partner Relationship Building
Build and nurture Christ-honoring relationships marked by service, mutuality, and clear expectations
Nurture and maintain strong relationships with assigned existing partners, serving and engaging them with excellence and care
Cultivate and on-board new church partners from targeted list of churches
Hold in-person meetings with HOPE’s core church partners at least one time annually for the purpose of relationship building, listening, evaluation and support
Invite churches to give generously to HOPE International
Establish collaborative relationships with development team members focused on cultivating and nurturing church partnerships while building their expertise
Lead efforts to gather church leaders to collaborate and join together in collective vision
Pursue opportunities for representing HOPE in speaking engagements with partners and with development representative events
Personal confession of Christian faith and commitment to the mission and vision of HOPE International.
Demonstrated track record of Christ-centered leadership skills
Understanding of, and love for, the Church, its mission and theological underpinning of its calling in relation to holistic poverty alleviation
Deep understanding of the church, and experience working with church partnerships either from within the church or with a church-partnering organization
History of successfully developing people and leading teams (directly and indirectly)
Excellent interpersonal/relational skills, with abilities in collaborative relationships
Strong networking abilities
Balance of strategic thinking and tactical implementation
Willingness to travel regularly domestically and occasionally internationally
Cross cultural experience, a plus
Experience in assessment, analysis, and evaluation of programmatic performance
Strong written and oral communication skills
