Ministry Function:
The Senior Director – Finance serves the mission of Convoy of Hope by working directly with the VP-Finance and CFO leading various initiatives related to the Finance Department. Initiatives include new reporting systems, processes related to global growth, and expanded reporting and analysis. This position will also lead the accounts payable and donations teams and operations, acting as a liaison with other departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary functions include:
1. Assist VP–Finance and CFO in various tasks and initiatives requiring involvement in all areas of Finance, including systems, budgeting, reporting, finance analysis and matters related to the global and domestic growth of COH.
2. Manage the overall efficiency, internal control, and effectiveness of accounts payable operations.
• Supervise accounts payable lead staff member and other staff members.
• Oversee and lead the accounts payable operations and day-to-day functions.
• Administration of related systems, process improvements and new technologies.
• Ensure timely & accurate data entry and coding, including credit card entry and follow-up.
• Implement deadlines for invoicing and payment collection processes.
• Maintain records of invoices, deposits, and vendor correspondence.
• Review and post invoices for payment.
• Journal entries related to credit card and other requests.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and vendors.
3. Manage the overall efficiency, internal control, and effectiveness of donations operations.
• Supervise donations lead staff member and other staff members.
• Oversee and lead donations operations and day-to-day functions.
• Administration of related systems, process improvements and new technology.
• Responsible for maintaining the integrity, consistency, and accuracy of donor activity and cash entry.
• Monitor and report donor activity.
4. Liaise between other divisions and working groups.
• Act as the main contact related to certain initiatives, accounts payable and donations. Field and answer questions, coordinate projects, and delegate tasks as needed to other members of the team.
• Lead process for finance training for new hires.
5. Accountable for ensuring accuracy of multiple systems utilized, monitoring exception reports associated with each system. Responsible for ad hoc reports and other reporting functions.
6. All other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Bachelor degree in Accounting or a Finance-related discipline required.
2. 10+ years of experience in finance related activities required.
3. CPA preferred.
4. Accounts payable experience preferred.
5. Management or Supervisory experience required.
6. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
7. Ability to manage difficult situations and individuals with tact and professionalism.
8. Strong decision-making skills.
9. Detail oriented and communication/listening skills.
10. Serve as an advocate for the ministry, striving to nurture, broaden and develop financial and other resource opportunities to support and expand organizational and program ministry.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position will have direct supervisory responsibility of accounts payable and donations team members. The ability to oversee and work with inter-departmental personnel in work teams with varying degrees of additional supervisory responsibility as needed.
