Reports to: Chief Development Officer

Position Overview

The Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for partnering with the Development team to create and disseminate Lifewater stories for all external Lifewater marketing and communication tools. The Senior Marketing Manager will lead the annual marketing and communication plan for Lifewater with strategies, deadlines, and methods to ensure the effectiveness of the Lifewater story.

The Senior Marketing Manager’s primary responsibilities include:

Create and Develop Content

  • Develop and implement an overall communication and marketing strategy that will be delivered in multiple formats
  • Create stories with a compelling and consistent narrative
  • Effectively communicate the importance and full scope of the organization’s mission to key external audiences
  • Create and coordinate the design of affiliate print communications including one-pagers, postcards, the annual report, and more
  • Consistently identify, produce, curate, and optimize appropriately branded and messaged content designed to educate, engage, and influence

Execute Marketing Strategy

  • Build marketing plans to drive engagement and awareness through website, social media, and print platforms
  • Work closely with the Donor Relations team to identify donor progress, reporting, and data to ensure targets are met
  • Oversees work quality and operational performance, ensuring timeline management and deadline adherence within budget
  • Facilitate strategic content plan, creative conversations and work collaboratively with the Donor Relations team to develop and refine pitches for relevant content

Build Digital Brand

  • Oversee the development of Lifewater’s digital media strategy focusing on current systems as well as emerging digital technologies
  • Develop and manage an analytics strategy for all digital media channels and platforms to measure effectiveness, efficiency, and impact
  • Lead marketing initiatives and responsibilities for driving traffic, engagement, and conversion through all digital channels
  • Identify gaps in the market and spot opportunities to create value propositions
  • Other duties as assigned

Work Experience and Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Adherence to Lifewater’s statement of faith
  • Passion for Lifewater’s mission of serving vulnerable communities and children
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field
  • 7+ years of progressive marketing experience
  • Proven creative ability and an effective storyteller
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience using various social media platforms to deliver content
  • Domestic and international travel as needed
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States; no sponsorship will be provided 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field
  • Previous work in the nonprofit sector is a plus
  • Experience using Salesforce
  • Experience using project management software, such as Asana

Physical Qualifications

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
