Location: office in Bentonville, AR (hybrid schedule)

Status: Full-time

Reports to: Vice President of Donor Relations

 

Position Overview 

The Donor Relations Manager is responsible for managing a mid-level portfolio of donors for Water for Good. The Donor Relations Manager will be responsible for managing these key relationships, specifically through donor correspondence, gift acknowledgement, direct solicitation, and invitations to participate and engage in the work and outreach of Water for Good.  

The Donor Relations Manager’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

  • Cultivate donor relationships with a portfolio of 500+ mid-level donors, who give between $1,000-$5,000 annually, with the focus on major donor lead pipeline of around 200 mid-level donors
  • In conjunction with the Vice President of Donor Relations, create and execute donor communication and engagement strategies for each mid-level tier of donors that is focused on fulfilling the donor’s interests and passions, while deepening the donors’ connection and commitment to Water for Good through gift acknowledgment, cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation
  • Develop relationships and engage donors through virtual meetings, in person meetings, phone, email, and direct mail communication channels
  • Solicit and close gifts from new donors, ensuring that gifts are appropriately stewarded
  • Analyze mid-level giving trends and keep accurate and current donor records through Salesforce
  • Meet monthly goals and provide regular stewardship updates to the Development and Leadership teams
  • Follow up on leads as assigned
  • Create and maintain an effective thank you strategy for mid-level donors as a part of gift acknowledgement strategy actively working with Chief Development Officer
  • Regularly qualify major donor leads from within the mid-level portfolio, using wealth screening data and other qualification tools
  • Identify growth opportunities with current donors and promote qualified donors to major gift level
  • Attend donor meetings, and be able to present at events, as needed
  • Have a strong knowledge of Water for Good program operations, to efficiently communicate the mission to donors
  • Other duties as assigned
     

Work Experience and Qualifications 

Required Qualifications 

  • Passion for Water for Good’s mission of transforming lives through sustainable access to safe water, as well as improved sanitation and hygiene, in places that need it most
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
  • 3+ years of previous fundraising experience
  • Experience using Salesforce, or a similar CRM tool
  • Excellent phone, email, and customer service skills
  • Highly organized, with great time-management and multi-tasking skills to meet deadlines
  • Strong skills in active listening, interpersonal, and verbal communication
  • Excellent writing and pitch skills
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States; no sponsorship will be provided
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience fundraising for a non-profit ministry
  • Experience using project management software, such as Asana
     

Physical Qualifications 

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
     

Travel Required: less than 30%
